Your journey begins the moment you arrive in Tanzania, where the warm air, distant birdsong, and peaceful views of Arusha quietly prepare you for the days ahead. This 6-day adventure leads you into the heart of the wild, from the baobab-studded landscapes of Tarangire, alive with wandering elephant herds, to the breathtaking descent into Ngorongoro Crater, a natural sanctuary where predators and grazing animals share a world of ancient beauty.

As you continue into the Serengeti, the horizon opens endlessly, revealing golden plains, big cats resting beneath acacia trees, and the timeless rhythm of nature unfolding all around you. Each day offers a new chapter, a new sunrise, a new sighting, a new memory.

By the time your safari comes to an end, Tanzania will have etched itself into your heart, not just through the wildlife you encountered, but through the quiet magic of the journey itself.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are met by your Roi Lion Tours driver-guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha (e.g. Kibo Palace Hotel). Use the rest of the day to relax after your flight, enjoy the pool or explore the town depending on your arrival time.

Accommodation: Kibo Palace Hotel or similar – bed & breakfast.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Elephants, Baobabs & Big Cats

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Enjoy a full or long half-day game drive, searching for lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebra and many antelope species along the Tarangire River.

In the late afternoon, continue to the cool highlands of Karatu for dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge (or similar).

Accommodation: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge, Karatu – full board.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – On to Serengeti

Leave early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries. The crater floor offers excellent chances to see lions, hyenas, hippos, buffalo, and—if you are lucky—the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot.

In the afternoon, exit the conservation area and continue into the vast Serengeti National Park, game viewing en route as you head to your tented camp (e.g. Suenios / “Sulvenion” Camp) in the central Serengeti.

Accommodation: Serengeti midrange tented camp – full board.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti

Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may follow the movements of the Great Migration or focus on resident wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and countless plains game. You can choose an early-morning and afternoon game drive with a midday rest at camp, or a full-day game drive with picnic lunch.

Accommodation: Same Serengeti tented camp – full board.

Day 5: Serengeti to Karatu

Enjoy a final morning game drive as you leave the Serengeti, then travel back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Karatu. Arrive at the lodge in time for a late lunch or afternoon at leisure – relax by the pool or take a short walk around the gardens.

Accommodation: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge or similar – full board.

Day 6: Return to Arusha / Airport

After breakfast, drive back to Arusha. Depending on your onward travel plans, you can be dropped at your Arusha hotel, Arusha Airport, or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or to Zanzibar.
